Terms and Conditions
The rules for using this website and its free tools. Paid work is always covered by a separate written agreement.
The short version
The summary helps you read the page. The numbered sections below are the terms that apply.
Agreement to these terms
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Oil Patch AI Systems website, including its pages, free tools, downloads and forms (together, the "Site"). The Site is operated by Oil Patch AI Systems Inc. ("Oil Patch AI Systems", "we", "us"), of Alberta, Canada.
By using the Site you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the Site for a company, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms for it. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
About us and the Site
Oil Patch AI Systems builds fixed-scope AI playbooks, data foundations and managed services for contractors servicing Alberta's oil patch. We are a new business, pre-revenue and launching in Q4 2026. Nothing on the Site describes a client result.
The Site gives general information about our services and the industry. Descriptions of playbooks, plans, timelines (such as "1 to 3 weeks" or "Day 30, 60 and 90") and what we "would look at first" are typical plans, not commitments or guarantees for your business. Demonstrations on the Site use synthetic data and are labelled as such.
Operators and other companies are named on the Site only to state facts they have published. Naming them does not mean they are our clients, partners or sources, or that they endorse us.
No professional advice
The Site and our free tools teach methods and describe how AI tools can support the work. They are not legal, tax, accounting, financial, insurance, engineering, privacy-compliance or safety-certification advice, and they do not create a professional or client relationship.
Safety-related content never replaces the judgment or sign-off of a qualified safety professional, and nothing on the Site changes your obligations under occupational health and safety law, your contracts, or any prequalification, COR or audit program. Before you act on anything you read here, get advice from a qualified professional about your own situation.
Free tools and assessments
The AI Readiness Assessment, the AI Readiness Pre-Test and the 3-Minute Readiness Check are self-assessments. Your scores, bands, pain points, suggested actions and suggested next steps come only from the answers you give. They are general information:
- they are not an audit, a review of your records, or a professional opinion;
- they do not estimate, predict or promise savings, hours, revenue, cash flow or any other result; and
- a suggested playbook or next step is not an offer, and it may not fit your business once your records are reviewed.
Your Pre-Test and 3-Minute Check answers stay in your browser unless you choose to send them to us. Your AI Readiness Assessment answers are sent to us with your contact details when you finish, as our Privacy Policy explains.
Paid services
The Site does not sell services directly. Any audit, readiness review, playbook build, managed service or AI leadership engagement is provided only under a separate written agreement signed by you and us, such as a services agreement, statement of work or data commitment (an "Engagement Agreement").
The Engagement Agreement sets out the scope, fees, schedule, data handling, confidentiality, ownership and responsibilities for that work. If it conflicts with these Terms, the Engagement Agreement wins. Fees and scope are confirmed in writing only, and nothing on the Site is a price, quote or offer capable of acceptance.
AI outputs and human review
AI tools can make mistakes. They can misread a document, miss a field, or produce information that looks right and is wrong. That is why every system we build includes a named person who reviews and approves outputs before they are relied on or leave your company.
You are responsible for reviewing and approving any invoice, form, report, bid, safety document or other output before you use, submit or send it, and for decisions you make based on it. We do not represent that any AI tool, including the ones we use or build with, is error-free, "secure", "compliant" or "certified" for any purpose.
What you send us
When you send us information through the Site, you agree that it is accurate and that you are allowed to share it.
Please do not submit through the Site's forms: client or operator confidential information (such as rate sheets, field tickets, purchase orders or bids), payroll or health information, member or community data, or any other person's personal information. Sensitive information needed for an engagement will be handled under an Engagement Agreement, inside your own systems.
If you send us ideas, feedback or suggestions about the Site or our services, we may use them without any obligation to you, but we will not identify you or your company without your permission.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Site for anything unlawful, misleading or harmful;
- copy, scrape or harvest the Site's content or contact details by automated means;
- try to break, overload, probe or get around the Site's security;
- send spam, malware or other harmful code through the Site or its forms;
- impersonate any person or company, or misrepresent your connection to them; or
- use the Site's content to build a competing product or service, or to train an AI model.
Intellectual property
The Site and its content, including text, playbook descriptions, checklists, assessments, graphics, the Oil Patch AI Systems name and logo, and the Site's design, belong to Oil Patch AI Systems or our licensors and are protected by Canadian and international copyright and trademark law.
You may view and print pages, and use our free tools and downloadable checklists, for your own company's internal business use, as long as you keep any copyright and attribution notices. You may not sell, republish, rebrand or distribute our content without our written permission. Ownership of anything we build for a client is set by that client's Engagement Agreement.
Microsoft 365, Copilot, Google Workspace, Gemini, ISNetworld, Avetta, ComplyWorks and other product names are trademarks of their owners. OCAP® is a registered trademark of the First Nations Information Governance Centre (FNIGC). Their use on the Site does not mean any of those owners endorses us.
Data sovereignty and respect
Our commitments on Indigenous data sovereignty, including how we work in alignment with OCAP® principles for First Nations clients and with the chosen principles of Métis and Inuit clients, are set out in section 9 of our Privacy Policy and in each client's Engagement Agreement. We do not speak for any Nation or community. We do not use any Nation's, community's or client's name, data or story in our marketing without written permission.
Third-party links and services
The Site links to, and loads content from, services we do not control, such as LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Google Fonts, scheduling tools and public sources we cite. We are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices, and your use of them is governed by their own terms. Statistics and quotations from third parties are shown with their source. Check them at the source before relying on them, because they may change.
Disclaimers
We work to keep the Site accurate and available. However, to the fullest extent the law allows, the Site, its content and its free tools are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties or conditions of any kind, express or implied. This includes any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness or non-infringement. We do not promise that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components.
Some laws do not allow certain warranties to be excluded. In that case, the exclusions apply only as far as the law permits.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Oil Patch AI Systems and its directors, officers, employees, contractors and advisors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, contracts, data, goodwill or business opportunity, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Site or its free tools. This applies whether the claim is based on contract, tort (including negligence), statute or any other theory, even if we were told such damages were possible.
Our total liability for any claim arising from the Site or its free tools is limited to one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100). Liability for paid services is governed only by the Engagement Agreement.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Oil Patch AI Systems and its directors, officers, employees and contractors from claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Site, or information you submit that you were not entitled to share.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If a dispute arises, we will first try in good faith to resolve it by talking with you. If that does not work, you and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta sitting in Calgary.
